Simon Cowell wants to poach Jessie J from 'The Voice' to become a judge on 'The X Factor' as he thinks she could bring something new to the panel
Simon Cowell wants to poach Jessie J from 'The Voice' to become a judge on 'The X Factor'.
The music mogul - whose current series of 'Britain's Got Talent' is going head-to-head with the BBC One talent singing show - is hugely impressed with the 'Price Tag' hitmaker and is set to offer her a huge deal to quit her role as a coach and join the 'X Factor' judging panel.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "She would be perfect for the 'X Factor'. Simon could double her salary but he knows she isn't only motivated by money. He can also give her the best possible platform to take her career to the next level.
"Being on stage in front of 10 million-plus people every week and performing a couple of times a series would be a major draw for someone like Jess."
After the first episode of 'The Voice' ended last night (24.03.12), Simon tweeted Jessie to tell her to switch over to ITV1 to watch 'Britain's Got Talent'.
He wrote: "If you love talent please watch our show tonight. It proves Britain has got talent. Enjoy. X (sic)"
If Jessie, 23, had watched 'Britain's Got Talent', she would have seen 17-year-old Jonathan Antoine steal the show.
The teenager looked shy and awkward as he walked onto the stage with his friend and singing partner Charlotte Jaconelli and Simon turned to stand-in judge Carmen Electra and said, "Just when thought it couldn't get any worse."
But the pair, especially Jonathan, blew the panel away with their version of 'The Prayer' by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli, and although Simon suggested Jonathan getting rid of Charlotte, the judges put them through.
He said: "Okay, this is what I think. Charlotte - I think you're good, but Jonathan -you're unbelievable. You have an outstandingly good voice. Jonathan, you are a huge star. I like the fact that this works as a duo, but I worry whether you are going to hold him back, Charlotte.
"You know what? My head would say to you 'dump her, Jonathan' and my heart would say, 'but there is something kind of magical at moments together as well."
