Coronation Street's David Platt is going to "declare war" on Audrey Roberts.
The bad boy hairdresser - who is played by Jack P Shepherd - will threaten to sue his grandmother Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) when she tells him to sign the salon back to her so that she can go on a world cruise with duplicitous heartbreaker Lewis Archer (Nigel Havers).
Jack said: "David will declare war on Audrey if she wants one. Although Gail agrees with David where Lewis is concerned, she'll be shocked by how far he's willing to go to keep the salon.
"David and Kylie go to see a solicitor. David tells his lawyer to writer Audrey a letter to spell out his position and let her know that if push comes to shove he will sue her."
David and his mum Gail (Helen Worth) are both concerned Lewis - who left Weatherfield in 2010 after cheating on Audrey when he kissed Deirdre Barlow (Anne Kirkbride) - is going to take Audrey for every penny she's got, and he is "desperate" to protect his gran.
Jack explained: "David is gobsmacked. When Audrey pushes it, he gets really angry. He's convinced that Lewis is behind it and that he's just after Audrey's cash. The bloke's only been back five minutes and he's bagged himself the holiday of a lifetime.
"David simply tells Audrey that he won't be signing anything. He's desperate to protect her. He did know the salon was only ever his on paper, but he's keen to keep it in his name. That's mostly because he's convinced if he did sign, the place would be on the market and the cash would be in Lewis' pocket by the summer."
Jack is glad to see the return of David's "dark side" and he is hoping his alter-ego's rebellious nature will be back "for a while".
He added to Inside Soap magazine: "It's been a long time coming, but I'm glad David's dark side is returning. People are asking me when David is going to get nasty again.
"Hopefully, his mean streak will continue for a while."
