Amanda Holden confirmed as Superstar host
Amanda Holden has confirmed she will be hosting 'Superstar', Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber's search for a lead for his latest production of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'
Amanda Holden has confirmed she will be hosting 'Superstar'.
The 'Britain's Got Talent' judge explained while she is yet to "sign on the dotted line" to front the upcoming ITV1 series - which will see Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber search for a lead for his latest production of 'Jesus Christ Superstar' - she is "terrified" at the prospect of presenting the show.
She told 'This Morning': "I am hosting - it's terrifying. We haven't signed on the dotted line yet, but I am and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to talk about it!"
"They've gone all over the country and Andrew said they've even had some girls auditioning as well and I'm not sure they've sorted out the judging panel yet but it's going to be a huge arena tour and it'll go worldwide."
Former Spice Girls singer Melanie C, as well as Jason Donovan and casting expert David Grindrod, are currently assisting Lord Lloyd Webber during the callbacks stage of the show, but the final judging panel is yet to be announced.
The musical maestro recently said: "I'm pleased to appoint David, Jason and Melanie to assist me with the candidates during Callbacks as I select my final 40 to go further for intensive training. They will be using their unique arena and stage experience to help me narrow down my choices for the live shows.
"What we're looking for is a rock star who will go on to sing the role of Jesus in the UK's first ever arena tour of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'."
