Bilyana Apostolova became the first candidate fired from 'The Apprentice' last night (21.03.12).

The Bulgarian-born risk analyst was brought into the boardroom to face Lord Alan Sugar by project manager Gabrielle Omar after she cost the girls' team vital time when she got them lost in London's Regent's Park.

However, the 25-year-old businesswoman insists she was only trying to "save the day" by leading her team off track from their pitch in London Zoo - where they were selling printed products - in the hoping of bagging more sales.

She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I feel terribly disappointed. I left myself really exposed on the task. I changed my sub-team, which didn't do wonders for bonding with any of the other girls.

"I was trying to save the day because we were in my local area and thought there would be more people to sell to. I completely abandoned my strategy to try and help the team win."

Bilyana admits watching the BBC One show back was a "very painful" experience because she realised had she kept quiet in the boardroom, Lord Sugar would have fired her teammate Katie Wright.

She added: "Watching it was very painful but I wanted it so badly and I felt I could go very far. Amid all the emotion I didn't pick up on the fact that he wasn't planning on firing me.

"Katie was going! I just spoke up at the most untimely moment and kept popping up again and again."
