Cheryl Fergison is scared about her future after 'EastEnders'.
The larger-than-life brunette - whose alter-ego Heather Trott was murdered by troubled teenager Ben Mitchell (Joshua Pascoe) earlier this week - admitted although she understands why bosses killed off her character, she is unsure what she will do now that she has left the BBC One soap.
She told Best magazine: "It was a bittersweet day. What you get with one hand, you get taken away with another! When they told me Heather was for the chop, the boss had to get me a tissue.
"Sometimes a character is sacrificed to make other stories work. I get it. I knew it was going to come but it was still a shock. There were lots of tears and I was scared about the future. I've turned down a couple of things I didn't think were quite right for me."
Ricky Grover, who plays Heather's on-screen fiance Andrew Cotton in 'EastEnders', is upset to see his co-star leave and explained the entire cast will miss the popular actress.
He added: "I was away when Cheryl was filming her final episodes, but I drove about 100 miles an hour to get back in time to watch them shoot her final scene.
"When I got to the set, nearly all of the cast and crew were there. Some familiar faces came back to see Cheryl, too. The fact that people like Barbara Windsor and Pam St Clement joined us for a good knees-up shows just how well-respected Cheryl is."
