Harry Hill to return to TV Burp
Harry Hill will return to 'TV Burp' for a new series after ITV bosses asked Simon Cowell to convince him not to leave the channel.
Harry Hill will return to 'TV Burp' after ITV bosses asked Simon Cowell to intervene.
The comedian quit the show last year - complaining that the programme had left him feeling "suicidal" - but after show bosses implored 'X Factor' supremo Simon to speak to him, Harry has now decided to return for a new series.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "'TV Burp' is a key part of ITV1's Saturday night schedule - and without it there was a fear that other shows could be hit like 'The X Factor'.
"Simon has a good relationship with Harry since the funnyman is working on 'The X Factor' musical. ITV bosses personally asked him to intervene."
While Harry never ruled out another series of 'Harry Hill's TV Burp', which is a comic review of the previous week's TV highlights, he had claimed he wouldn't make another series this year at least because he was sick of it.
When asked if he would quit in 2012, Harry said: "I think it's likely. I've been doing it for 10 years and I've done more than 100 shows. I'll certainly be taking a year off doing it and I'll see how it goes. But it's not like I'm saying I'll never do it again.
"It takes up six months of my year and that doesn't give me enough time to pursue anything else."
