Amanda Holden looks set to host Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Superstar' after accepting his offer "in principle".

Amanda Holden is set to host 'Superstar'.

The 'Britain's Got Talent' judge - who has previously starred in stage productions such as 'Shrek' - has reportedly accepted Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber's offer to present his new talent show, which aims to find a lead for his latest production of 'Jesus Christ Superstar' which will open at London's The O2 later this year before embarking on a national tour.

An ITV source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "Amanda is the perfect lady for the 'Jesus Christ Superstar' role as she has first-hand experience of what it is like to be on the West End stage from 'Shrek' and 'Thoroughly Modern Millie'.

"She has taken the job in principle and now contracts need to be worked out."

The 41-year-old beauty - who nearly died in January while giving birth to her daughter Hollie Rose - will join Melanie C, Jason Donavan and casting expert David Grindrod on the ITV1 show after Lord Lloyd Webber confirmed the trio have signed up to be judges alongside him on the series.

He explained: "I'm pleased to appoint David, Jason and Melanie to assist me with the candidates during Callbacks as I select my final 40 to go further for intensive training. They will be using their unique arena and stage experience to help me narrow down my choices for the live shows.

"What we're looking for is a rock star who will go on to sing the role of Jesus in the UK's first ever arena tour of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'."

'Superstar' begins on ITV1 this summer.
