Chris Fountain praises 'interesting' Bill Roache

Chris Fountain thinks Bill Roache is one of the "most interesting" people he has ever spoken to.
While his 'Coronation Street' co-star - who recently admitted to bedding 1,000 women - is known for portraying his straight-laced alter-ego Ken Barlow, Chris admits he has had some "crazy" conversations with the veteran soap actor.
He told Inside Soap magazine: "You find yourself talking to all sorts of people here. At a recent awards evening, I spent a couple of hours talking to Bill Roache, who plays Ken Barlow about all kinds of alternative life forms.
"It was crazy! He's one of the most interesting people you can speak to."
This comes after Bill admitted that, as well as sleeping with up to 1,000 women, he once seduced his 'Coronation Street' co-star Pat Phoenix - who played battleaxe Elsie Tanner - as a "one-off" before the pair fell out after a row during filming and didn't speak for two years.
Speaking on 'Piers Morgan's Life Stories', which airs on ITV1 next month, he explained: "It was just a one-off. It was just something that happened one night when we were together. We weren't right for each other. She invited me round to her flat and we had a few drinks, then one thing led to another.
"At that time, she had a reputation and I had a reputation, and she felt we should meet, as it were. It just happened."
