Andrea Lowe's Love Life pranks
Andrea Lowe and Rob James-Collier liked to play pranks on their 'Love Life' co-stars with a prosthetic baby
Andrea Lowe liked to play pranks on her 'Love Life' co-stars with a prosthetic baby.
The 37-year-old actress - who plays lead character Lucy in the ITV1 romantic drama - joked that the doll they used on set was so "lifelike" that she and on-screen love interest Rob James-Collier often shocked extras by pretending she was "chucking around" a real baby.
She told BANG Showbiz: "We had good fun with the prosthetic baby which looked very lifelike and we could play some tricks on passers by. We were chucking it around and things like that!
"There was one particular time when we were in the Lake District when Rob grabbed it by its leg and pulled the baby up. The lady in the scene didn't realise it wasn't a real baby and I thought she'd been given a heart attack."
Andrea - who found out she was expecting a baby in real life shortly before she started filming 'Love Life' - admitted she had played a mother so often she thought it was "about time" she had her own child.
She joked: "I had to keep work and my pregnancy quite separate but I've had lots of children in various productions and it's about time I had a real one.
"I've had a lot of experience with babies before but never have I worked with babies that are quite so little and it did make me very excited. We were very lucky that their mums were prepared to hand them over to us."
'Love Life' starts on ITV1 tonight (15.03.12) at 9pm.
