Creators of 'The Only Way Is Essex' are "in discussions" about making multiple versions of the series in the US.
Tony Wood, creative director of the ITV2 reality show, explained following the success of 'TOWIE' - which is already available in America via video website Hulu - in the UK, the programme could be recreated in both Texas and Florida, as well as Australia, Germany and Finland.
He told BBC News: "There are a number of territories that are interested in doing their own versions. We're currently looking at Texas and Florida.
"We wanted an underground awareness of it simply because we would rather produce a [new] version of the show in America. And so we're talking about two different versions at the moment, which could co-exist."
However, Tony admitted the format of 'TOWIE' - which stars the likes of Lauren Goodger, Joey Essex and James 'Arg' Argent - has been met with scepticism from a number of viewers, who question whether the dramatic storylines are fake.
He explained: "There's a sense that it's a big con trick and it isn't, it really isn't. The idea was to take the style of soap operas, of those shows to which the audience becomes addicted, but the cast are leading it much more than we are."
