Melanie C is to be a judge on 'Superstar'.

The former Spice Girls singer will appear alongside Jason Donovan and casting expert David Grindrod on the judging panel for Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber's new talent show to find a lead for his latest production of 'Jesus Christ Superstar', which will open at London's The O2 later this year before going on a national tour.

Andrew said: "I'm pleased to appoint David, Jason and Melanie to assist me with the candidates during Callbacks as I select my final 40 to go further for intensive training. They will be using their unique arena and stage experience to help me narrow down my choices for the live shows.

"What we're looking for is a rock star who will go on to sing the role of Jesus in the UK's first ever arena tour of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'."

Melanie will be assisting Andrew during all the various stages of the competition and she says she's looking forward to getting to work.

She said: "I'm a huge fan of Andrew's incredible work over the years. I am honoured and excited to work along side him helping to find a performer with the raw talent and charisma to play the title role of Jesus."

'Superstar' begins on ITV1 this summer.

Spice Girls

20 years on, the pop Wannabes are still performing together. Well, mostly.
