Jessie J: X Factor prepared me for The Voice

Jessie J's stint as a guest judge on 'The X Factor' prepared her for her role as a coach on 'The Voice'.
The 'Price Tag' hitmaker - who assisted N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos in choosing her finalists for the last series of the ITV1 show - explained the experience made her "understand" TV talent shows ahead of joining the panel of the upcoming BBC One programme.
She told BANG Showbiz: "I was on 'The X Factor' but it was only one day of filming with Tulisa. I feel like this show really represents me because I am all about the voice.
"Tulisa and I don't talk about 'The X Factor' and 'The Voice' though, we talk about being girls and being young and fake tan and make up and bags. It definitely made me understand that everything you say can be made to sound bigger than you want it to be though."
While Jessie concedes she will "always" be compared to fellow female talent show judges - such as Cheryl Cole and Nicole Scherzinger - she hopes the focus of 'The Voice' is on the artists auditioning for a place in the show.
She added: "I hope people don't get more obsessed with the judges than the artists because this show wouldn't exist without the artists. It's a very scary thing to step into, it's scary for them. I understand how they feel, I was shaking when I was doing 'The X Factor'.
"I'll always be compared to other females, even though there's no other female coaches on the show. I'll be compared to Cheryl, to Tulisa, to Nicole but I'm myself and that's the only person I can be. Comparisons are lazy."
'The Voice' will begin on March 24 on BBC One.
