Tyrone Dobbs to become domestic abuse victim

Coronation Street's Tyrone Dobbs will feature as the victim in a shocking new domestic violence storyline.
Viewers of the ITV1 soap will see the unlucky-in-love mechanic - played by Alan Halsall - psychologically and physically abused by his sinister fiancee, policewoman Kirsty Soames (Natalie Gumede), after she isolates him from his friends.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "This is not a decision we have taken lightly. Female on male domestic abuse is a sensitive area.
"Kirsty will be seen attacking Tyrone and the fallout will be how she feels terrible about it and attempts to show some remorse."
This is the latest in a series of dramas for Tyrone, who previously found out his baby son Jack was actually the child of his boss Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) after he had a saucy affair with Tyrone's wife Mollie Dobbs (Vicky Binns) prior to her death in the tram crash disaster.
Alan recently revealed he feels sorry for his character every time he opens a script as he knows it will contain bad news.
He said: "Tyrone's gone through heartbreak for years. He puts his heart on his sleeve and it always ends badly. I feel sorry for him every time I read a script because he is a doormat.
"I think the reason people relate to him is that we all know someone like him. There's always that guy that people walk all over and I feel sorry for him."
