Denise Welch won't sit with Janet
Denise Welch reportedly refuses to appear on 'Loose Women' on the same days fellow panellist Janet Street-Porter is booked for the show.
Denise Welch won't appear on 'Loose Women' with Janet Street Porter.
The 'Celebrity Big Brother' winner and the journalist reportedly don't get along at all so the actress has requested to ITV bosses not to book them for the daytime show on the same days.
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "To say relations between Denise and Janet are frosty would be an understatement. The reality is they really don't like each other and they probably never will.
"Janet considers herself to be a feminist intellectual while Denise is a salt-of-the-earth northern lass who really enjoys letting her hair down. They have got absolutely nothing in common and would rather have nothing to do with each other.
"When Denise heard Janet was joining 'Loose Women' last year she was pretty shocked. The production staff realise this show is all about the chemistry of the panel so they respected her wishes."
However, the insider insists the pair would put their differences aside if it were necessary for the show.
The source added: "But both women are professionals, so if a situation arose where they had to go on for the good of the show, they would swallow their pride and get on with it."
Despite the claims, a programme spokesperson insists the panellists - which also include Carol Vorderman, Carol McGiffin, Andrea McLean, Jane McDonald, Jenny Eclair, Lisa Maxwell and Sherrie Hewson - have no input in how each day's line-up is chosen.
They said: "The mix of panellists each day is decided by the production team and not the talent."
