Ant and Dec at the NTAs

Ant and Dec are set to be banned from future National Television Awards Entertainment Presenter shortlists because organisers are fed up of them winning every year.

The presenting duo picked up their 11th consecutive gong in the category at this year's ceremony and show chiefs at producer Indigo Television have reportedly decided to remove the pair from competing but instead name the award after them, if they agree.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Ant and Dec have taken more awards than any other show or star in the ceremony's 17-year history.

"So now there's talk they will step out of the competition to give others a chance and organisers will rebrand the category The Ant And Dec Entertainment Presenter Award.

"Of course, organisers will need Ant and Dec to agree to the unprecedented move."

However, Ant and Dec - who are currently working on the latest series of 'Britain's Got Talent' - have not been approached about the bizarre suggestion yet and those close to them don't think they will be keen on it.

The source added: "It will be news to them and the idea will depend on whether they want to go along with it. They might just say no, in which case the organisers can't not let them enter."
