Suranne Jones loves filming 'Scott and Bailey' scenes in the toilet.
The main characters of the detective drama DC Rachel Bailey (Suranne) and DC Janet Scott (Lesley Sharp) spent an inordinate amount of time in bathrooms and Suranne joked it has become one of their favourite places to film.
She told BANG Showbiz: "Rachel is always peeing and she seems to come out half way through each conversation so at the beginning of each take I kind of checked if everyone was ready and I locked myself in the cubicle. We spend a day or two in the main office. Then we might go to do the briefing rooms scene. Then we'll have an afternoon dedicated to the toilet. Everybody loves it in the toilet. There's a buzz about it. There's always a bit of anticipation and you get excited about when you're going to the toilet."
Suranne admitted one of the reasons why cast and crew love the toilet scenes so much is because it's such a small space that it gets quite packed and people have to hide in the cubicles in case a camera catches them in one of the mirrors.
She added: "It's very bright and you know somebody can easily be caught in a mirror where they shouldn't be. The other day the first assistant director had his shoes caught and he was hiding behind the door.
"A lot of people are hiding when you film in the toilets because of the mirrors and it's quite packed in there and it's just a good laugh.
"There's not very much you can do in a toilet except wash your hands, dry your hands, put on lipstick. And then we have to do the whole thing in silence because of the taps being noisy. It just rocks in the toilet."
'Scott and Bailey' will return to ITV1 on Monday (12.03.12) at 9pm.
