Jameela Jamil: 'I'm not just a pretty face'
Jameela Jamil prefers acting silly and dressing up in goofy costumes for work rather than looking glam.
Jameela Jamil says she's not just a pretty face while she's at work.
The 'Playing It Straight' presenter would prefer to act silly and wear goofy costumes rather than play up her sex appeal when she is hosting shows, but admitted it is sometimes a struggle for people to see her talent instead of just her looks.
Jameela - who is fronting Cosmopolitan's 'F Word' campaign - explained: "I'm constantly struggling over scripts and always given the straight lines or I'm pigeon- holed into the short skirts and high heels and "silly Jam Jam". And I'm constantly battling to say 'No, I would love to wear the chicken suit and make an arse out of myself in exactly the same way the boys would.'
"I fight back so many times. I'll turn up when we're filming an advert and I point blank refuse to wear the pretty glam outfit and if I see a silly costume for the boys I will insist on wearing that. For the women who look up to me I want them to see it's okay to make an arse out of yourself."
The 26-year-old T4 presenter is a huge fan of TV show 'Sex and the City' because she believes it shows how intelligent women really are.
She added: "I want men to know. Women are RAW - the way we talk we're graphic we're so honest and there's so much of that that's ignored by people. And that's why things like 'Bridesmaids' and 'Sex and the City' show how intelligent we are and how bold we are."
Jameela is fronting Cosmopolitan's 'F Word' campaign which encourages British women to stand up and be counted to get what they deserve; equality in all aspects of their lives.
