'Britain's Got Talent' and 'The Voice' are to go head-to-head in the ratings battle when they are both unveiled on the same night
'Britain's Got Talent' and 'The Voice' are to launch on the same night - March 24.
The talent search show - which this year sees the return of Simon Cowell as a judge - and the BBC music programme, which is airing in the UK for the first time, will likely be unveiled on the same Saturday night, according to insiders.
A source revealed any such clash would likely continue every weekend, mimicking the problems between ITV and the BBC when they air 'The X Factor' and 'Strictly Come Dancing' simultaneously.
The insider told The Sun newspaper: "We haven't declared our launch date but, if I was a betting man, I'd go for March 24.
"The BBC know we always launch 'BGT' around this time."
However, the BBC is thought to be annoyed as it believes it is a direct effect of them winning the bidding war for the show - which in the UK will feature mentors including Jessie J, Tom Jones, will.i.am and Danny O'Donoghue.
A source at the network said: "This is typical of ITV, parking their tanks on our lawn just as we launch a major new format.
"They are smarting because they didn't get the show although they bid £10 million more than us."
