Andy Whyment has become the latest star to leave 'Dancing On Ice'.

The 'Coronation Street' actor found himself in the bottom two alongside skier Chemmy Alcott and admitted before he and partner Vicky Ogden took to the ice for the skate-off that he was "pretty sure" he would be going home.

And his prediction was proved right as all three judges opted to save Chemmy and partner Sean Rice.

Katarina Witt said: "You should be very proud about your performance Andy, but Chemmy I would like to see your lift again."

Head judge Robin Cousins agreed, saying: "Andy you've been great to watch in this series and it was a great way for you to go, but I'm saving Chemmy too."

Louie Spence then confirmed he would also have sent Andy home.

The actor - who had been bottom of the leaderboard with a score of 20.5 - appeared emotional as he paid tribute to Vicky and his family for their support on the show.

He said: "I've had an absolutely amazing time. Vicky is amazing.

"I'd like to thank the producers of 'Corrie' for letting me do this and I'd also like to say thanks to my wife. I'm looking forward to getting home and spending time with her and my kids."

Earlier in the evening, the six contestants had been divided into two groups with Chemmy, Jorgie Porter and Jennifer Ellison's team winning the challenge, meaning their scores for the evening were doubled.

Katarina and Robin both voted for the girls' performance to Spice Girls hit 'Spice up Your Life' as the winner, but Louie opted for the boys with 'Y-M-C-A'.

He said: "You both worked it welll. 'But I feel the team who had a bit more extra for me was Matthew and the boys."

Jorgie and her partner Matt Evers went on to top the leaderboard with a score of 52, with Chemmy and Jennifer behind with 51 and 49 respectively.

Despite losing the challenge, Matthew and partner Nina Ulanova still scored a respectable 28.5 points, while Chico and Jodeyne Higgins were awarded 25.

The remaining five contestants skate again next Sunday (11.03.12).
