Darcey Bussell is in talks to join the panel of 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 42-year-old ballerina - who retired from her professional career in 2007 after holding the title of principal dancer for the Royal Ballet for many years - is reportedly being lined up as Alesha Dixon's replacement on the BBC One show.
After Alesha defected to rival ITV1 series 'Britain's Got Talent', BBC bosses are said to have opened up discussions with the dancer after she impressed while appearing as a guest judge on the series in 2009.
Craig Revel Horwood - who is joined on the panel by Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli - is keen for Darcy to appear on 'Strictly' because of the credibility she would bring to the show.
He said: "I think Darcey would be a good choice. She is very credible, has done the show before, and I know she would love to do it.
"I'd really like to see her on the panel, and she's very well thought of by the 'Strictly' producers. She was fantastic as a guest judge."
Unknown choreographer Karen Bruce has also been tipped for the job, and famously acid-tongued judge Craig explained she is also "well thought of" among 'Strictly' chiefs.
He added: "Karen is a well-respected choreographer who has choreographed several opening and closing numbers for 'Strictly'.
"So she is well thought of at the show. She's definitely been putting her name into the mix and is an option."
