50 Cent raises stakes on album release
- 13 August 2007
Rapper 50 Cent has said he will quit releasing solo material if his next album is outsold by rival Kanye West. Preparing to launch his album on September 11, the same day as West’s latest offering, 50 Cent is quoted as saying “let’s raise the stakes”. Should West take the lead, Eminem’s former protégé said: “I’ll write music and work with my other artists, but I won’t put out any more solo albums.” Strangely the hip hop artist admitted he had been working with West in the studio recently, but said he would not be including the results on his forthcoming album Curtis. Kanye West meanwhile will be releasing his third album Graduation.
