Kate Garraway thinks 'Daybreak' is "really good" now Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley have left.

The 44-year-old presenter - who has assumed a prime position on the sofa of the ITV1 breakfast show following the sacking of the duo last December - is pleased the programme is going back its former 'GMTV' roots.

Asked how things are on the show now Adrian and Christine have left, she said: "Really good. The show's changed a lot and I don't think it's anything to do with Adrian and Christine going.

"'Daybreak' was a very different programme from 'GMTV' when it launched, and some people weren't so keen on the changes.

"Now there's a lot more about the show I recognise from 'GMTV'. So the show is changing, which has been nice for me as there are things I loved about 'GMTV'."

Kate - who presents 'Daybreak' alongside Dan Lobb - admitted she is unsure whether she will be kept as the show's main presenter long-term, but she is happy to go back to her previous role as entertainment editor.

She added in an interview with new! magazine: "I think the new editor has plans for the show. But whether I'll be doing presenting or the entertainment stuff, I love it all.

"I do enjoy presenting but I have really enjoyed some of the other things, too. I'll just have to wait and see what happens."
