Phillip Schofield has revealed 'Dancing On Ice' bosses have banned him from skating on the ice
Phillip Schofield has been banned from taking to the ice by 'Dancing On Ice' bosses.
The TV presenter - who hosts the ITV1 show alongside Christine Bleakley - suffered a slight stumble as he practised his skating skills during series one, which led to programme chiefs forbidding him from trying it again due to "health and safety" regulations.
Speaking on ITV1's 'This Morning', he said: "It's a sore point! I went on to the ice on our first series during a Friday rehearsal and I had a bit of a skate, had a stumble.
"And I looked up and there was a line of suits standing there, who all beckoned me off the ice and said, 'Health and safety, you can't do that, you're not insured' and that has stood all the way through.
"Christine also wanted to get on the ice and she's not allowed to either. But they do say, and quite rightly, how would you get from there to there if you have got broken legs - and we know it happens because we've seen the injuries."
Meanwhile the programme's resident skating experts Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean explained they have been most impressed with 'DOI' contestants Chico and Jorgie Porter this week.
Jane said: "Chico just keeps getting better and better and he's doing some big lifts this week.... and you can throw anything at Jorgie - she's fearless!"
Chris added: "The next level [of her doing the head banger] is for her to do it from the skate and land back on the skates."
