Superstar DJ Pete Tong says Russia and India are his favourite two countries to perform in because they are so different to the rest of the world
Pete Tong says Russia and India are his favourite two countries to perform in.
The DJ has spun records all over the globe but his gigs in those two nations are the most memorable for him because they are so different from his native UK.
He said: "I've been lucky to play all over the world, but Goa in India and Nizhny Novgorod in Russia stand out so far this year. They are two extremes - one a beach in the sun and the other minus 25 degrees!"
Pete has teamed up with Groove Armada for a new compilation album 'All Gone Miami '12' - which is released on March 26 - and a tour which kicks off on February 25 in London and stops off in Moscow on March 10.
The 51-year-old DJ admits it has been great to work with the duo, Andy Cato and Tom Findlay, because their careers have been so intertwined over the years.
Pete exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I'm a massive fan. I have so much respect for those guys and what they have achieved. They always keep it real and keep it soulful. We've supported each other a lot during our careers and putting together this album was great fun.
"For the tour, we are starting to establish the 'All Gone' idea following on from its introduction last summer. For the UK, we wanted to go back to basics, fantastic warehouse-style spaces and new venues that have really put themselves on the map. There will be a great atmosphere, great locations and a mix of new, young talent with more established stars."
'All Gone Tour' dates:
25th February - London, Village Underground
3rd March - Newcastle, Warehouse 34
7th March - Moscow, Arma Music Hall
10th March - Cardiff, Glam
16th March - Manchester, Sankeys
