'How To Look Good Naked' presenter Gok Wan is to host a new cookery show about Chinese food
Gok Wan is to host a new cookery show.
The style guru - famed for his makeover shows such as 'How To Look Good Naked' - will present a new Channel 4 programme about Chinese food alongside his restaurateur chef dad John, which will explore home cooking and feature healthy and quick meals devised by Gok.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "Gok can't wait to fire up his wok and showcase his other great passion in life, Chinese cooking. It will prove he is master of the cleaver as well as the cleavage!
"He loves home-cooked Chinese food and over the years has perfected many dishes of his own.He really wants to show Brits who love a good takeaway that true Chinese cookery is faster, healthier and more delicious than anything you can get delivered to your front door.
"From the ultimate kitchen tool - the wok - through to a handful of basic, simple ingredients, Gok will guide viewers through the easy essentials to mouth-watering food. And he can't wait to get his dad - who is a Chinese restaurateur and chef - involved too.
"Gok affectionately calls him Papa Wan and the series will show just how close they are."
'Gok Cooks Chinese' will air in May and producer Pat Llewellyn can't wait to get started on the new series.
She said: "Gok is a brilliant home cook and his recipes are healthy, fast and packed with flavour.
"His Chinese way of cooking feels incredibly modern -- fresh ingredients cooked so quickly it makes 30-minute meals look like slow motion. Everyone loves eating Chinese food but not many of us dare cook it at home. I'm sure Gok is going to change that."
