Jennifer Ellison sick with concussion after skating accident
Jennifer Ellison was left sick with concussion on Sunday night (12.02.12) after she cut her head open during her routine on 'Dancing On Ice'
Jennifer Ellison was left vomiting with concussion following her 'Dancing On Ice' accident on Sunday (12.02.12).
The actress cut open her head with her own skate after the daring 'Scorpion Kick' move went wrong and while she was left with a deep gash to her scalp, she bravely skated on and finished her routing with her partner Daniel Whiston before medical staff used a special glue to close the wound.
However, the 28-year-old actress took such a heavy blow to her head that she was left with concussion and kept being sick after the show.
A source said: "The cut was really nasty, her head was covered in blood, but the medical guys did a great job closing it.
"But sadly for Jennifer she was concussed due to the weight of the skate hitting her head. After the show she usually hangs out with the other contestants in the bar to talk about their performances, but on Sunday she felt really sick and a bit dizzy.
"Jen had lots of friends at the show as well and although she tried her best to see everyone she just didn't feel right. At one point she had to rush to the toilet to be sick and then she left."
Jennifer spent Monday (13.02.12) recuperating and it is believed she will be well enough to resume rehearsals today (14.02.12) for this week's performance.
The former 'Brookside' star thanked her fans for all their support in a message posted on the 'Dancing On Ice' website on Monday.
She said: "This is a message to everyone who has been in touch to see if I'm OK. I'm absolutely fine and I've been glued together.
"I've got a bit of a headache and I'll probably feel even worse in the morning, but thanks for all the support, it means so much to me. Hopefully I won't have to do the routine again!"
