Corrie's Lewis Archer 'a changed man'
Coronation Street's Lewis Archer will return to the cobbles "a changed man", according to actor Nigel Havers.
Coronation Street's Lewis Archer will return to the cobbles "a changed man".
Nigel Havers - who plays the duplicitous heartbreaker in the ITV1 soap - explained when his formerly corrupt alter-ego arrives back in Weatherfield he will be determined to make amends and shocks everyone by immediately giving back Peter Barlow the money he stole from him.
He explained: "Lewis is a changed man. He's back to apologise and repay the debts he owes. He returns the money he took from Peter at the bookies and even adds an extra thousand pounds by way of compensation.
"Lewis feels desperately bad about what he did, and he's going to be quite busy saying sorry over the next few weeks!"
One person Lewis will be desperate to win over is former flame Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls), who he ditched to start a new life in the Caribbean when he departed the Street.
Nigel added in an interview with Inside Soap magazine: "He still has an eye for Audrey, but will she feel the same? She's the posh totty on the Street, and he finds her very charming and honest. I really think Lewis fell for her while there were together the first time.
"There's always that danger Lewis could fall back into his old ways, and he is down to his last penny. But at the moment, Lewis is trying his hardest and has no ulterior motive - just an awful lot of ice to break instead!"
