Denise Welch's son begged her not to take part in 'Celebrity Big Brother'.

The 'Loose Women' presenter has admitted suffering with mental health battles in the past and her 22-year-old son Matthew was worried that taking part in the Channel 5 show - which she went on to win - would be detrimental to her wellbeing.

She told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: "My eldest didn't want me to do it - he worries a lot about my mental health problems and my drinking.

"But I saw him after leaving the house and he said he's proud of the way I behaved, which means the world to me."

However, despite her fun-loving persona, Denise, 53, admits she did consult a therapist in the house because of her volatile relationship with Hollywood star Michael Madsen.

"Being in there brought back my depression - it was horrible and I felt so lonely at times.

"There was one time in the house when I asked to see a psychologist. He soon became a security blanket for me - he had to keep reminding me it was a TV show and not my real house."

"Michael came in as this big Hollywood star but I didn't know who the f**k he was. He didn't like the fact I didn't think he was amazing.

"If I never see him again I don't give a s**t."

Denise memorably flashed her breasts during a dip in the hot tub with runner-up Frankie Cocozza and insists she has no qualms about baring all again, but would like to get a boob job first.

She explained: "I don't regret getting my boobs out, I'll always do it. I do have compulsive flashing disorder.

"But I do want to get my boobs done. I owe it to the public not to have them hanging around my knees."
