will.i.am slams The X Factor

will.i. am has hit out at 'The X Factor', claiming the judges "don't really know" what they're talking about.
The Black Eyed Peas frontman - who is on the panel of the BBC show 'The Voice' alongside Sir Tom Jones, Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue - explained the two talent competitions can't "compare" because his programme is judged by "legends".
He said: "I won't be a judge on 'X Factor'. But 'The Voice' is different. You can't even compare the two. One, you have people in the music industry, current and legends, coaching the next generation.
"The other format you have judges critiquing, giving their opinions on things when they don't really know. But on 'The Voice', we've all got experience.
"Tom Jones is a frickin' legend. He's like 'Damn, man, let me tell you all about the time me and Sammy Davis Jr and Frank Sinatra hung out. And then the time I partied with Elvis, we were rocking'. I love working with him, he's too cool. Tom Jones is like igloo-cool.
"Danny from The Script is talented. A writer, singer and producer - he's dope. I've heard that I'm supposed to be rowing with Jessie J, but I dig that girl. Jessie J is fresh. I want to do a song with her."
The rapper also admitted despite 'X Factor' boss Simon Cowell being keen for Cheryl Cole - who will.i.am manages - to return to the show, she is looking to front her own series and will never go back to the ITV1 programme.
He added in an interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Cheryl won't do 'X Factor'. Why does she need it? Why are you going to make someone else rich? Cheryl needs her own show.
"Cheryl Cole was current on 'X Factor'. She was the only one on the panel with musical experience of what it feels like to go through that process. That's how she made it into the industry, by doing 'Popstars'."
