Elbow claim their official Olympics song will be "epic".
The Mercury Prize-winning group have worked with the Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Community Gospel on the new track - which will be the official soundtrack for the London 2012 Olympic Games - and they can't wait to play it.
Speaking to website Noise11.com, bassist Pete Turner said: "That was really good. Just an area that we've never explored, really, writing something specifically for something else. And it was great; really good fun.
"It's a pretty epic tune. It's got the Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Community Gospel on it. I'm looking forward to hearing that. I think it gets its first airing in March."
He also revealed other bands were considered but they are thrilled they were commissioned to write the song.
He said: "We knew there were other people in the running, but we were never told who, which is probably quite a good thing, really.

Guy Garvey who is joined in the band by Pete, guitarist Mark Potter, keyboardist Craig Potter and drummer Richard Jupp - recently admitted the group are living a "dream come true" because of their successes and experiences.
He said: "I feel so very lucky to be part of British music. I have, with my best friends, realised every childhood dream I've had.
"We've won awards, sold records and we're about to embark on our first arena tour. We've met our heroes, seen the world and been paid for it. Literally a dream come true."
