Coronation Street's Steve McDonald could see all his ex-wives come back to "haunt" him in a one-off episode, his co-star Katherine Kelly has joked.

Coronation Street's Steve McDonald could see all his ex-wives come back to "haunt" him in a one-off episode.

Katherine Kelly - who will bow out of playing his scorned ex-wife Becky in the ITV1 soap later this month - has joked with fellow actress Suranne Jones that it would be "funny" of all of the unlucky-in-love barman's former spouses came back to visit him in one go.

She said: "Suranne Jones, who played Steve's ex-wife Karen, once said to me, 'Wouldn't it be funny if all Steve's ex-wives came back for one episode to haunt him?'

"I would absolutely come back one day if the story was right."

While Katherine admitted she will miss her bolshie alter-ego's "heart" after portraying Becky for five years, she is glad to say goodbye to her questionable style choices.

She added in an interview with Soaplife magazine: "I won't miss the gold earrings pulling on my ears and I won't miss all the make-up changes and I won't miss having to have my hair dyed all the time.

"But I will miss her heart."

However, the actress has ruled out swapping the cobbles of Weatherfield for the bright lights of Hollywood now that she's quit 'Corrie'.

Katherine joked: "I don't think there's much call in Hollywood for girls from Barnsley! I've never had a plan ... I just take things as they come. I'm not a dreamer."
