Steve McDonald's last-minute attempts to win back ex-wife Becky could be "too little too late".

The 'Coronation Street' barman - portrayed by Simon Gregson - will be shocked when the bolshie blonde turns up on his wedding day to conniving Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) and tells the congregation she wasn't responsible for Tracy's miscarriage.

Although Steve eventually believes that his fiancee has been lying to him about the devastating event all along, Katherine Kelly - who plays Becky in the ITV1 soap - warns it could be too late for the pair to make it work.

She said: "Maybe it's too little too late. He's been the love of the life but has he blown it? Becky will always love Steve but is her love for him so strong she walks away alone to pick up the pieces?"

While the former couple's showdown comes as Becky prepares to flee the country to start a new life aborad, she tries to tell Steve the truth about Tracy's miscarriage earlier that day.

Katherine added in an interview with Soaplife magazine: "She has that plane ticket but until she's given Steve one last chance to look in her eyes and believe she didn't cause Tracy's miscarriage she can't think about that.

"She gives him one last chance to believe she's innocent. She wants to stop him making the biggest mistake of his life. Whether they get back together or not, she still has this opportunity to save him from himself. But Steve throws it back in her face."
