A contestant on 'Take Me Out', Aaron Withers, has been exposed as a £50-an-hour escort as well as having a conviction for assault.
A contestant on 'Take Me Out' has been exposed as a £50-an-hour escort.
Aaron Withers - who won a date with 28-year-old Wen on Saturday night's (07.01.12) show - advertised his services on Platinum Select, a website with more than 5,000 escorts.
On the site Aaron - who kept his past hidden from bosses of the ITV1 dating show as well as its host Paddy McGuiness - charges £50 an hour, £500 for an overnight visit or £1,500 for an entire weekend, pledging to either see customers at home or in their hotels.
Aaron has now admitted to using the site but insists he rarely used it.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It seemed like easy money to fund surf trips when I first came to London, just a bit of fun. I was really skint and needed to earn cash."
"I didn't have time to go on dates through the site and I certainly didn't offer any more than that."
As well as being an escort, it has also been revealed Aaron - who failed to impress many of the 30 single women on the show - has a conviction for assaulting a woman and her boyfriend who mocked him about his height in a pub in June last year.
The tarmac worker pleaded guilty and was fined £200 and told to pay £50 compensation to both victims.
Last night an ITV spokesman blamed the show's producer, TalkbackThames, for failing to weed him out.
TalkbackThames said: "We will review procedures."
