TV chef Antony Worrall Thompson has been arrested for shoplifting.
The 'Ready Steady Cook' star was given a formal caution by police for stealing cheese and wine on five separate occasions from a Tesco store in Henley, Oxfordshire.
Antony was secretly filmed by staff after they became suspicious that he was not paying for all his goods at the store's self-service checkout area, where shoppers scan barcodes on their purchases and pay using machines.
He is said to have put some products under the scanner but sneaked others into bags without paying for them.
He was then stopped by security guards when leaving the shop on Friday (06.01.12) and they called in the police.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "He was ordering blocks of cheese at the deli counter, taking bottles of wine, then putting some things through the scanner but walking out with the rest.
"They caught him on camera doing it more than once, but had to be 100 per cent sure it was not a genuine mistake before apprehending him. Because of his high profile, the security staff could not afford to get it wrong."
He was taken to a local and questioned about shoplifting offences on five different occasions at the Tesco superstore, beginning on December 22.
Antony - who took part in 'I'm A Celebrity. Get Me Out Of Here!' in 2003 - was given a formal caution by police covering all five separate offences. Anyone receiving a formal caution from police must admit the crime for which it is received.
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "We arrested a man from High Wycombe following a report of shoplifting offences.
"The man has been issued with a formal caution for these offences."
