Lorraine Kelly's 'familiar' appeal
Lorraine Kelly puts her 25-year career in the TV industry own to ''familiarity'' and the fact fans relate to her
Lorraine Kelly thinks "familiarity" is the reason her career has lasted.
The 52-year-old presenter - who has fronted TV programmes for 25 years - feels "privileged" to work on her breakfast show 'Lorraine' and thinks the fact fans view her as approachable is the main part of her appeal.
Asked why she has remained so popular, she said: "I think it's familiarity. Breakfast television is unique - it's one of the few shows where you can be yourself, which I very much am!
"So I feel privileged to be able to do that. And I get a lot of folks talking to me when I'm out and about - they feel they can approach me, which is probably one the reasons I'm still there."
While she enjoys fronting the weekday morning show, Lorraine would love her passion for travel to become a bigger part of her work.
She added in an interview with the new issue of Good Housekeeping magazine: "I'd love to do more documentaries and travel shows that focus on the lives of women in different cultures. I'd like to do more travel writing."
