Chesney Hawkes 'blings' up broken leg
Chesney Hawkes has given his broken leg some ''bling'' in an ode to his fellow 'Dancing On Ice' contestants after having to quit the show due to the injury
Chesney Hawkes has given his broken leg some "bling" after having to quit 'Dancing On Ice'.
The 'One and Only' hitmaker - who was forced to bow out of the celebrity skating competition after injuring himself during training - explained he has covered his leg cast in blue glitter so not to miss out on the flashy costumes worn on the ITV1 show.
Speaking about his injury, he said: "It is very disappointing, yes. I mean I only just found out that it was broken and we go live on Sunday. I was supposed to be skating on Sunday (08.01.12).
"Well I'm missing out on the Spandex and the Lycra and everything, so I thought well at least I can try and bling my cast up."
While the singer - who was partnered alongside professional skate Jodeyne Higgins - admitted he is "gutted" to not be taking part in 'Dancing On Ice', he thinks his replacement on the show, 'X Factor' contestant Chico, is the perfect person to take his place.
He added in an interview with ITV1's 'Daybreak': "I had thrown myself in 100 per cent into this show, and I've really enjoyed every minute of it and I had a fantastic partner in Jodeyne, she's wonderful. And I'm just gutted, I really am.
"Chico has been training with us all along as a reserve. And I was kind of gutted that he wasn't going to be involved in the show. So if anyone's going to take over my place, I'm glad it's him. He's a lovely guy."
