BGT wannabes to audition on YouTube
'Britain's Got Talent' has joined forces with YouTube to enable wannabes to upload videos of their act directly to the show's channel on the video-sharing website, with the online community given the chance to vote for their favourites
'Britain's Got Talent' hopefuls can now audition via YouTube.
The ITV1 show has joined forces with the video-sharing website to enable contestants to upload videos of their act directly to the 'BGT' channel from today (05.01.12) until January 22, with the YouTube community given access to the auditions to form an early opinion on their favourites.
Exclusive footage of the judges in action will also be available, which will give fans the first chance to see newcomers Alesha Dixon and David Walliams alongside existing panellists Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden.
A shortlist of acts will be drawn up on the YouTube channel before viewers are given seven days to vote for their favourites.
Those who progress will then go on to audition in front of the judging panel on the ITV1 show in a bid to become the winning act who will perform at this year's Royal Variety Performance.
On February 18, online viewers will be able to exclusively watch the show's auditions in Birmingham, which will be the first time auditions will be seen on YouTube before they are broadcast on TV.
Sam Donnelly, executive producer of 'Britain's Got Talent;' said: "We are thrilled to be working with YouTube again following on from last year's successful partnership.
"YouTube has a huge online community that reaches a diverse range of people of all ages and it's the perfect way of finding the talent of the future".
