Coronation Street's Tyrone Dobbs is to pop the question to his pregnant girlfriend.
The unlucky-in-love mechanic - played by actor Alan Halsall - will beg scheming Kirsty Soames (Natalie Gumede) to marry him, despite his best mates trying to pull the plug on their fledging relationship.
Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) and Tommy Duckworth (Chris Fountain) are convinced the policewoman is cheating on trusting Tyrone when they catch her making a series of secret phone calls, and decide to follow her for a day to see if their suspicions are right.
The duo's worries are confirmed when they see her hugging a mystery man in the street, and they rush home to break the devastating news to their pal.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, Tommy tells Tyrone: "Ty, she's seeing another man, mate."
However, Tommy immediately feels guilty when Kirsty reassures a heartbroken Tyrone that the man she was hugging was actually her cousin Nathan - a car dealer - and she was trying to sort out the loan of a flashy Ferrari for her boyfriend's Valentine's Day (14.02.12) present.
In scenes set to be screened next month, a furious Tyrone rushes to see Kirsty at the police station in a last-ditched attempt to save his seemingly doomed relationship.
He begs her: "I'm really sorry, Kirsty. I shouldn't have listened to them. I love you. Please will you marry me?"
This is the latest in a series of dramas for Tyrone, who last year found out his baby son Jack was actually the child of his boss Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) after he had a saucy affair with Mollie Dobbs (Vicky Binns) prior to her death in the tram crash disaster.
