Chesney Hawkes may miss the launch show of 'Dancing On Ice' after injuring himself during training.

The 'One and Only' singer had been due to take part in the ITV1 celebrity skating competition - which launches this Sunday (08.01.12) - but his place is now in jeopardy after he suffered an injury during a training session.

Writing on the official 'Dancing On Ice' twitter page, a spokesperson said: "The bad news is that Chesney Hawkes is injured and his place on the show on Sunday is hanging in the balance - nooooooo! (sic)"

Meanwhile, the show's presenter Phillip Schofield - who co-hosts 'Dancing On Ice' alongside Christine Bleakley - confirmed the news during today's edition of 'This Morning', during which all the contestants featured on the show apart from Chesney.

He said: "We don't know whether or not he's going to make it this weekend."

This is not the first injury to rock the ice skating show.

Heidi Range's professional partner Sylvain Longchambon has already been ruled out of this year's series after tearing a tendon in his right bicep.

The Sugababes star had been due to skate with the French hunk throughout the competition but she will now be partnered by Andrei Lipanov.
