Coronation Street's Tommy Duckworth and Tina McIntyre will find love in 2012.

The lady-loving lothario and the brunette bombshell - played by Chris Fountain and Michelle Keegan respectively - will finally get together in the new year, and soap bosses hope their romance will follow in the footsteps of legendary 'Corrie' characters Jack and Vera Duckworth (Bill Tarmey and Liz Riley).

Producer Phil Collinson told Soaplife magazine: "It'll be a huge love story of two people who adore each other. Hopefully they'll follow in the footsteps of memorable couples like Jack and Vera."

Meanwhile, an unsuspecting Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) will fall victim to a baby trap when his bunny-boiler girlfriend Kirsty Soames (Natalie Gumede) - who is fiercely jealous of the mechanic's friendship with Tina - tells him she has fallen pregnant.

After Tyrone lost wife Molly (Vicky Binns) in last year's devastating tram crash and saw son Jack actually revealed to be Kevin Webster's (Michael Le Vell) child, he could fall victim to the cunning ploy.

An insider said: "This could be a very deliberate trap and a very dangerous one for Tyrone. After losing Molly and baby Jack he could be well and truly trapped by a pregnant Kirsty, whether he loves her or not."
