Winehouse admitted to hospital
- 9 August 2007
Singer Amy Winehouse was taken to hospital yesterday morning - and discharged hours later - suffering from ‘severe exhaustion’ her record label said. The pop star was taken to University College London hospital by her husband Blake Fielder Civil and a friend before collapsing at the reception desk. She had been due to perform at the Oya music festival in Oslo later in the evening. A spokesman for Island Record said yesterday: “Amy was discharged from the hospital this afternoon and has been advised to take complete rest. Scheduled performances in Norway and Denmark this week have been cancelled.” Winehouse cancelled a spate of recent appearances, citing exhaustion or ill health.
