Last year's 'X Factor' runner-up Rebecca Ferguson wants her fellow Liverpudlian Marcus Collins to be crowned the winner in this year's final this weekend

Rebecca Ferguson wants Marcus Collins to win 'The X Factor'.

The 'Nothing's Real But Love' singer - who finished as runner-up on last year's series losing out to Matt Cardle in the final - is rooting for her fellow Liverpudlian to land the record deal on Sunday (11.12.11).

Rebecca is still grateful for the support the city gave to her last year and knows the whole of Liverpool will get behind Marcus - who is mentored by Gary Barlow - at the weekend.

She told BANG Showbiz: "I've been watching it ['The X Factor'], I missed it last week but I'll be definitely watching the final. I want Marcus to win I'm rooting for my Liverpool boy. I know Liverpool was really rooting for me last year and it would be nice for us to have a winner, I think that would be really lovely. I'll be voting for him."

Rebecca released her debut album 'Heaven' this week which she co-wrote with producer Eg White to mass acclaim.

She admits she is really "grateful" to the ITV programme for launching her music career and is proud she got to the final.

Rebecca explained: "I always wanted to write my own music and that's what I was always doing before 'The X Factor', I always wrote and so for me it was a no brainer, it was just what I was going to do. But I look back on 'The X Factor' with pride, and sometimes I still can't believe it was me on it. I'm pleased I did so well on the show and it gave me a fantastic platform. I'm grateful for what's it's done for my life."
