Simon Cowell to make X Factor appearance by satellite
Simon Cowell is reportedly planning to make an appearance at the 'X Factor' final via satellite or video link.
Simon Cowell is to make a surprise appearance on the 'X Factor' final - by satellite.
The music mogul is based in Los Angeles working on the US version of the show and has requested a link so he can watch Amelia Lily, Marcus Collins and Little Mix contest for the crown, and will reportedly appear on screen or via internet video service Skype to give feedback either during tomorrow's (10.12.11) episode or afterwards.
Simon is said to have decided against appearing at all this year because he didn't want to overshadow the new judging panel of Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos.
A source told the Daily Mail newspaper: "Simon has stayed abreast of the show from America and has continued to have daily conference calls with his staff in the UK.
"But he didn't want to appear in the early weeks because he needed to concentrate on his day job. There was also no point in him overshadowing Gary Barlow and the other judges."
Meanwhile, Louis - the show's last remaining original judge - has admitted he thinks the show has suffered without Simon.
He said: "I am going to be honest, without him there on the live shows it's not the same. It's like a big ship with no captain. He's got a great instinct and he tweaks everything."
The Irishman also revealed he wants to stay with the show next year, despite much speculation about his future.
He said: "I'd like to come back. I love the show 90 per cent of the time."
