X Factor fan Prince William
'X Factor' contestant Marcus Collins was stunned when Prince William and his wife Duchess Catherine told him they were fans of the show
Prince William and Duchess Catherine "can't wait" for the 'X Factor' final.
The royal couple met finalist Marcus Collins at Gary Barlow's charity show at London's royal Albert Hall on Tuesday (06.12.11) and told the scouse singer how much they have been enjoying the programme.
Marcus - who performed with Gary at the concert - told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "They both said they watched 'The X Factor'. How amazing is that? They asked if I was nervous about the weekend and I said I couldn't wait.
"Kate said she was amazed at how much stronger my vocals were live than on television. I couldn't believe it."
Meanwhile, Marcus' fellow finalist Amelia Lily returned to her home town of Middlesbrough yesterday (07.12.11), where she performed at her old school.
The 17-year-old singer was not popular at Teesside High School but thinks her time on the show has made her former classmates understand her style and ambitions more.
She told The Sun newspaper: "It was the best experience to be back there and see girls being so nice to me and supporting me.
"I was always different in school, I was always the odd one out. People just didn't get me. I always liked different music and dressed differently and had my own style
"Now it's like they understand why I was like that. I was meant to be an artist, I was meant to be a singer. It was hard, we were only young. When you're young you don't understand - it all makes more sense to me now."
Marcus and Amelia will compete against girl group Little Mix to be crowned this year's 'X Factor' champions on Saturday (10.12.11).
