Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley signed off from 'Daybreak' yesterday (05.12.11) by racking up a £551 bar bill in just over an hour.

The presenting duo had drinks with ITV colleagues Kate Garraway, Dan Lobb and show executives at the Mulberry Bush pub opposite the ITV studio on London's South Bank, but despite the hefty bill, the pair are said to have been "really cut up" about their exit from the ITV1 breakfast show.

An ITV source told The Sun newspaper: "It was more like a wake than a party. They're both really cut up about what has happened."

Adrian was quoted as saying: "This is not a day for celebrating. We're just having a few drinks." He then shouted: "More Guinness."

'Daybreak' newsreader Tasmin Lucia Khan felt it was a "sad day" to see the pair leaving the programme, but she admitted the 44-year-old football pundit can be a "grumpy git".

She said: "It's a sad day. Christine made me laugh every morning. He's a grumpy git, you can quote me on that."

Adrian is set to continue fronting Champions League football on the channel, and Christine is due to co-host 'Dancing on Ice' alongside Phillip Schofield.

The pair said a very low-key farewell to viewers on their final show yesterday by thanking production staff for "all their hard work"

Speaking on the programme, Adrian said: "I'm off to concentrate on football and Christine has been put on ice."

The pair moved to the ITV1 morning series from BBC One's 'The One Show' in the summer of 2010, but they were axed from the breakfast show last month due to poor viewing figures.
