Christine Bleakley and Adrian Chiles signed off from 'Daybreak' this morning (05.12.11) by thanking their production staff.

The presenting duo said a very low-key farewell to viewers on their final show in the final minute of the programme and revealed their future projects.

Adrian said: "As some of you will know, this is our last show. As a leaving present, I'm taking my funny animal clips clipboard with me!

"We would just like to say thank you to the rest of the on air team."

Christine said: "We'd like to say thank you especially to all the production staff for all their hard work over the past year."

In a reference to Christine's new job co-hosting 'Dancing On Ice' with Phillip Schofield, he added: "I'm off to concentrate on the football and Christine has been put on ice, in the nicest possible way."

To which she added: "So to speak yes, that's just about it from us. Good luck, have a great Christmas."

The presenting duo were axed from the breakfast ITV show last month following poor viewing figures and although they were due to continue to front the series early in the New Year bosses decided to let them go earlier.

Christine and Adrian moved from BBC series 'The One Show' in the summer of 2010 to ITV in deals worth £1 million each, but the new morning series' viewing figures plummeted to 700,000 resulting in advertising revenues falling.

Among the favourites to replace them on the 'Daybreak' sofa is Natasha Kaplinsky.
