Marcus Collins has been offered a job by 'X Factor' hair stylist Jamie Stevens.
The 23-year-old hopeful - who was a professional hairdresser in Liverpool prior to entering the ITV1 show - has been told by the celebrity crimper that if he fails to make a success of himself in the music industry then he can fall back on a job "sweeping up" in Jamie's salon.
Marcus told BANG Showbiz: "Jamie Stevens, who does all the hair for 'The X Factor', told me that when I eventually mess up my singing career I can have a job in his salon sweeping up and making tea.
"So at least that's something!"
The singer also revealed he has been taking advice from last year's 'X Factor' winner Matt Cardle in the hope of breaking "the curse of the lads" and pursuing a successful singing career once he leaves the competition.
Speaking at last night's (30.11.11) TalkTalk secret 'X Factor' gig in London's Soho district, Marcus said: "I'm hoping to break the curse of the lads. In recent years they don't seem to have done as well as they might have done once they've left the competition, and I want to turn that around.
"Matt Cardle has done fantastically well and he's been giving me some great advice in the run-up to the semi-final. He's a top guy."
Marcus now faces Amelia Lily, Misha B and girl group Little Mix in this weekend's semi-final.
