Fatima Whitbread could feel a cockroach's feet tickling her when she got the critter lodged up her nose during an 'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!' challenge.
The former Olympian came face-to-face with the gruesome creepy crawly as she battled to remain on the ITV1 show against Pat Sharp - who was later eliminated from the jungle camp - in the extreme Bushtucker Trial, which later saw Fatima forced to have her nasal passage syringed to rid it of the critter.
She explained: "I got a bit panicky. No matter how hard I tried to get him out he wouldn't go. I could feel its little feet tickling my nose at the top. It was definitely not in a hurry to go anywhere.
"The medic Dr Bob said there was nothing there but I knew it was there. I had to sit because it started wriggling again.
"My eye was aching. If you panic it makes things worse but I admit I was frightened at the end."
It took three squirts before it came out. "
The athlete has been plagued by bad luck since she joined the jungle camp, with a rat jumping on her head in the middle of the night earlier in the series.
