Samantha Womack to judge BGT?
Former 'EastEnders' actress Samantha Womack has been shortlisted to join the panel of 'Britain's Got Talent'
Samantha Womack has been lined up for a judging role on 'Britain's Got Talent'.
The former 'EastEnders' actress has been locked in secret talks with ITV1 chiefs and after impressing bosses with her no-nonsense attitude, has now been shortlisted to join the panel.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Samantha is brilliant and the bosses love her. She's hugely popular as ten million people watched her every week on 'EastEnders' - and she's got a fair old mouth on her.
"She's not afraid to call a spade a spade but she also has a down-to-earth approach that producers think will encourage acts. We don't just want the judges to slag people off."
It had been claimed former 'X Factor' judge Dannii Minogue could also join the panel, but insiders insist she has little chance of landing the job.
The source added: "Dannii didn't even make the longlist. She's only got a chance if Simon Cowell steps in and gives her the job."
Show bosses are looking for two new judges after Michael McIntyre quit the panel to concentrate on his upcoming stand-up tour and David Hasselhoff was axed after just one series.
It had been speculated that Amanda Holden - who is currently pregnant with her second child - will return to the panel but miss the initial auditions.
However, she has insisted she will be a part of the 'BGT' team for the entire series.
She tweeted: "You will all have to be patient re BGT. I am doing it inc auditions!"
David Walliams is favourite to land the third judging slot.
