Eamonn Holmes renews Sunrise contract
Eamonn Holmes will continue to host Sky News' breakfast programme 'Sunrise' after singing a new three-year deal today (24.11.11)
Eamonn Holmes has signed a new three-year contract to continue hosting 'Sunrise' on Sky News.
The former 'GMTV' presenter - who has been linked with the vacant presenting role on 'Daybreak following the news Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley are to depart the ITV1 show - is "delighted" to be staying with breakfast programme for at least another three years and he is looking forward to keeping up his good relations with co-hosts Jacquie Beltrao and Charlotte Hawkins.
In a statement on his official website, he said: "Being so associated with breakfast television for so long, there is often speculation linking me to other vacancies when they occur.
"I have had a really exciting, fulfilling , and happy six years at Sky News and with today's signing of a new contract , I am delighted to continue hosting 'Sunrise with Eamonn Holmes' for at least another three.
"'Sunrise' is becoming a regular fixture for more and more people to wake up to. It's a great privilege for Charlotte, Jacquie and myself to be welcomed into so many homes as their breakfast show of choice.
"But it is also a great privilege for me to work with colleagues who I not only respect, but like so much. There is no doubt our off-screen friendship shines through on screen."
Earlier today (24.11.11), the TV presenter - who also co-hosts ITV's daytime show 'This Morning' with his wife Ruth Langsford every Friday - took to his twitter account to announce the good news.
He tweeted: "Most of u won't care - but it's a happy day for me. Sky News have asked me to host Sunrise for another 3 years I'll explain more on eamonn.tv (sic)".
